Protectli FW6 Dasharo Release Notes

Following Release Notes describe status of Open Source Firmware development for Protectli FW6.

For details about our release process please read Dasharo Standard Release Process.

The missing versions were assigned to different platforms interchangeably. See Protectli VP46XX releases and Protectli VP2410 releases.

v1.0.14 - 2022-05-13

Added

  • Initial support for the Protectli FW6 platform
  • SeaBIOS/legacy boot support
  • iPXE Network Boot support
  • Protectli boot logo
  • Throttling temperature to 75 Celsius degrees

Known issues

  • Samsung memory modules do not work properly on older FW6A/B/C (SKU6LAV20)

Known issues

  • CPU turbo has been disabled due to issues with Linux kernel booting The problem also reproduced with AMI BIOS. Disabling Turbo Mode is a workaround. Tested version that were affected:
    • Ubuntu 16.04.6 desktop i386 with Linux kernel 4.15.0
    • Ubuntu 20.04.1 desktop amd64 with Linux kernel 5.4.0
    • Debian live 10.7.0 amd64 cinnamon with Linux kernel 4.19.0

Note that the issue may affect more kernels and distros, thus the turbo is kept disabled temporarily. - Platform doesn't reboot after flashing
